I work with textiles because it is the gift was given to me when I was five years old. A much-loved aunt gave me a tiny ball of yarn and a hook to chain it. My love of working with textiles comes from their power to be the shell that covers our fragile skin, like an extension of the human body. Textiles are also an extension of my voice; with fibres I can let words flow but, also, I can express what is hard to put into words. Fabrics and threads help me to channel my creativity, challenge my hand skills and let my mind to unravel while my hands are busy. Textiles also allow me to work in any place, and in almost any condition. As an art textile maker, I am strongly inspired by my scientific background, from merging microscopic imagery to exploring physical phenomena in my pieces.
